The Center for Land Use Education (CLUE) is a focal point for land use planning and management education in Wisconsin. CLUE faculty and specialists teach students, train local government officials and communities, create a variety of publications and conduct research focused on planning and zoning issues.​

The four northern counties of Wisconsin (Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, Iron) have experienced a​​ per​​​ceived surge of home and land sales since 2020, yet the causes of this increase in property sales are unknown.

Through realtor interviews this study examined why people are purchasing property, from where they are coming, and what prompted them to ​​purchase property and/or move​.



Wisconsin Planning Positions - An Analysis

The Analysis of Wisconsin Planning Positions is intended to inform undergraduate and graduate planning curriculum, planning employers, and students about the current needs that are reflected in planning job descriptions.

The analysis examines Wisconsin job descriptions from January to March 2023. The Wisconsin American Planning Association (APA-WI) job board was utilized for all new job announcements in conjuntion with job descriptions from employer websites.


StoryMap Series - Wisconsin Conservation Reserve Program


The United States Department of Agriculture's Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) retires land in 10–15 year increments to help protect soil, clean water, and enhance wildlife habitat. This report examines the changes in acres and conservation practices in Wisconsin and also discusses the future of the CRP in the upcoming 2023 Farm Bill.
