UW-Stevens Point offers five theatre and dance degree tracks, including three highly competitive BFA programs in Musical Theatre, Acting and Design & Technology. In addition, we offer two liberal arts degrees: the BA Dance major and minor, with coursework in ballet, modern, jazz, tap and theoretical studies, and the BA Drama major, which allows students to study multiple focused areas such as playwriting, dramaturgy, directing, design, and acting.

A Season Of…

2024-2025 Season

Welcome to the 2024-2025 Department of Theatre & Dance season! Our eight-show season includes readings in Wausau and Marshfield, and a 1 p.m. pre-show talk with the director on each of the first Sunday matinee dates. Subscribe to one of the series packages, or purchase tickets individually – all great ways to see terrific theatre and dance performance!

First Nighters

Our First Nighters Season offers theatergoers dinner and a performance on the opening Friday evenings for five of the productions. Meals are served in the Noel Fine Arts Center courtyard by Dining and Summer Conferences. You can choose from several different series packages and individual event tickets to suit your schedules and tastes. Your best value is the combined Studio/Jenkins package of five productions. It is a great price for dinner and a show!

The Department of Theatre and Dance at UW-Stevens Point is accredited by the following professional associations.

Founded in 1981, the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD) is an organization of schools, conservatories, colleges, and universities with approximately 83 accredited institutional members. It establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees and other credentials for dance and dance-related disciplines and provides assistance to institutions and individuals engaged in artistic, scholarly, educational, and other dance-related endeavors.

It establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees and other credentials for theatre and theatre-related disciplines and provides assistance to institutions and individuals engaged in artistic, scholarly, educational, and other theatre-related endeavors.

UW-Stevens Point Department of Theatre & Dance is a proud member of the Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE). AAAE advances an inclusive, equitable, and resilient environment for the arts by supporting arts administration education faculty and programs and serving as a hub for knowledge.
