LEARN TO DESIGN AN ARRAY OF INTERIOR SPACES

As an interior architecture student at UW-Stevens Point, you will engage in an exciting, yet extensive, professional training, designing an array of interior spaces ranging from residential homes to corporate office to multiuse spaces such as a senior living facility. In addition, this four-year curriculum is carefully formulated to teach you design history, design communication and drawing, socio-cultural aspects of design, technology and sustainable design.

WHY STUDY INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE AT UW-STEVENS POINT?

More than 90 percent of UW-Stevens Point interior architecture graduates find successful employment in the design field soon after graduation. You may work as an interior designer in a design firm specializing in commercial design, office planning, health care facilities, hotels, restaurants, retail stores, high-end residential design or historic preservation. WHAT TO EXPECT

You will have frequent field trips to examine interior design firsthand, including Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Madison. These study tours allow you to visit design showrooms and art museums, get an up-close look at design firms, learn about career opportunities and network with professionals in the field.

Interning with a professional designer allows you to challenge yourself, get in-depth knowledge of a design specialty and establish professional connections. In addition to local and state companies, we offer a unique opportunity to complete an international internship in London. You will also have opportunities for expanding your horizons through study abroad trips to destinations around the globe.

The Interior Architecture program, leading to the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Degree at The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA).

The College of Fine Arts and Communication at UW-Stevens Point is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. UW-Stevens Point in the only college in the state to hold national accreditation in all of its arts programs: Art and Design, Dance, Interior Architecture, Music, and Theatre, placing it in the top 7% in the nation.

The CIDA-accredited program prepares students for entry-level interior design practice, for advanced study, and to apply for membership in professional interior design organizations. The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Architecture granted by The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point meets the educational requirement for eligibility to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Examination (NCIDQ Exam).
