Be on your way to a CPA With a degree in Accounting
As an accounting student at UW-Stevens Point, you will learn the skills necessary to be professionally licensed as a certified public accountant (CPA), certified management accountant (CMA), or certified internal auditor (CIA). In addition, you will develop a mix of analytical and decision-making skills to illustrate an organization’s financial status and inform business strategies. The UW-Stevens Point accounting program can be completed on campus or online.

Anderson Classroom to Career Center
The Keith and Tammy Anderson Classroom to Career (C2C) Center provides a single location for UW-Stevens Point School of Business and Economics students to learn about majors, receive career and financial support, and discover internship and professional development opportunities. The Anderson C2C Center also serves as a hub for business outreach and event planning.

Alex Garcia was hired before graduation at Hawkins Ash CPAs in Marshfield, Wis., as an audit and tax associate.

Megan Bittner
Megan Bittner interned at Schult Tax LLC in Marathon City, Wis., where she prepared W-2s and 1099s for clients before tax season started, then prepared 230 total tax returns which included 1040, 1120 and 1120S, and 1065.

What to Expect?
Accountants are an integral part of private, public, and nonprofit organizations. Our alumni are employed in such fields as manufacturing, banking, insurance, and real estate. They work in firms of different sizes, locally and internationally, in careers such as:
- financial accountant
- auditor
- public accountant
- management accountant
Statewide job growth in accounting is projected to increase by 11.5% between 2014 and 2024. Learn to produce and communicate financial business results to achieve optimal financial performance. Students take business, financial accounting, managerial accounting, cost accounting, income taxes, auditing, and strategy. These classes provide the interpersonal and decision-making skills necessary to succeed in private, nonprofit, or governmental organizations.
