Language Immersion Opportunities
Students majoring or minoring in a world language or in international studies may need to or may want to do a language immersion program. These programs involve studying within a community who speaks a language other than English.
Department of Public Instruction Wisconsin requires a language immersion program for students pursuing language teaching majors, but the Department of World Languages and Literatures does not require a language immersion program as part of the curriculum requirements. Language teaching majors typically participate in language immersion opportunities in the semester before student teaching.
