Application Instructions

International Applicants: Do not apply via CASCAS. Please see separate instructions for international applicants at  Apply – University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (uwsp.edu)

U.S. Applicants: There is a two-step process to apply to UWSP.  You must apply both through CSDCAS and directly to UWSP.

Read the following instructions carefully.

  1. Complete the application for the master’s program in speech-language pathology at UW-Stevens Point via CSDCAS beginning Aug. 15, 2024. Be prepared to upload your essay answers to the following prompts.

Describe a challenging experience that required significant perseverance and determination. How did you approach this challenge, and what strategies did you employ to be successful? Reflect on how this will impact your approach to graduate studies. Limit your response to 550 words.

Aside from academics and volunteerism, tell us something interesting about yourself that is not reflected in the rest of your application. Discuss how that would contribute to the culture of your cohort. Limit your response to 550 words.

  2. Submit all official transcripts and three letters of recommendation (we suggest at least two from a CSD professor and/or clinical supervisor) to CSDCAS. We must see your fall 2024 grades on your transcript to process your application. The address to send your official transcripts to CSDCAS is:  CSDCAS Verification Department, P.O. Box 9113, Watertown, MA 024712.  IMPORTANT: Do not send any application materials directly to the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at UWSP.

**We do not require the submission of GRE score reports.

  3. In addition to the CSDCAS application, you must apply for graduate study at UWSP via the UW online application and pay the application fee. You do not need to submit a separate transcript to UWSP at this time. If you are accepted as a graduate student, you will need to submit a transcript that shows your conferred degree.

For your application to be considered, you must complete and submit applications on both the CSDCAS site and the UW online site by Jan. 15, 2025 (at the latest). It is important to send materials as soon as possible after Aug. 15, 2024, to ensure transcripts and payments are received and processed by the deadline. Applicants are responsible for meeting all the deadline requirements. If an applicant does not submit all materials prior to the deadline, we will not process the application. Do not wait until January to complete your application. If you have questions about submitting application materials, contact CSDCAS Customer Service Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. EST. The phone is 617-612-2030 and email is csdcassinfo@csdcas.org.
