Healing Waters is the collaborative project by an international collective of artists from four continents. In reaction to the 2020 pandemic, the artists created works which expressed healing and surviving. Artist Judy Jashinsky proposed Healing Waters as the title of the project, influenced by the book Blue Mind by Wallace Nichols. This fit well into the collective whose two-fold mission is to spread the importance of water, life, and stewardship.
An order of sequence was randomly assigned to the 22 participating artists and each individual assigned an identifier. One artist would create a work, send it to Healing Waters project manager, who would then send that work of art to the next artist. All artists participated with blind reaction, not knowing the artist who created the work before them. The process was uncertain, yet the experience of receiving and giving resulted in a procession of healing.
