Rebecca Roberts

Bio

Rebecca Roberts is a Land Use Specialist with the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension at the Center for Land Use Education within the College of Natural Resources at UW-Stevens Point. Becky provides training workshops for plan commissions, zoning boards, and other local land use officials.  She also assists communities with comprehensive planning, public participation, plan implementation, and the fiscal impacts of land use decisions.  She is the managing editor of the Land Use Tracker newsletter, author of the Plan Commission Handbook, and coauthor of the Zoning Board Handbook and Land Use Megatrends series.

Becky holds a Bachelor of Arts in biology and environmental studies from Augustana College and a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Illinois. For her master’s research, Becky worked with the Lake Michigan Federation to evaluate lakeshore communities’ land use plans and regulations in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. Prior to coming to CLUE, she worked for the U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory, where she helped to create a regional land use model and decision support system enabling citizens, planners, and policy-makers to visualize and test the social, economic, and environmental impacts of land use scenarios.
