BIO
Greg Pragel has been performing since he was a kid. He grew up in Buffalo, NY where he performed in local community theatre. Throughout elementary and high school, he was a member of the choirs and in the cast of the one musical that was performed each year. As a junior in high school, he was awarded the local Kenny award which recognized his performance of Andy Lee in 42nd Street.
Greg’s passion and love for the stage led him to Niagara University in New York to become a sponge. Greg performed in his first actual play, as well as his first Shakespeare play (Julius Caesar), and quickly learned that he truly enjoyed the process of being a creative artist. Beginning to understand and respect the craft itself.
After graduating, Greg was cast in many national/international tours and performed in regional theatres across the U.S. In 2013, while on tour as Motel in Fiddler on the Roof, he was accepted to the Stella Adler Studio in New York City and was ready to become a sponge yet again to further his growth as an actor. He trained and began to make a home base in New York City, cultivating and creating relationships within the community there.
Since graduating from the Stella Adler Studios in 2016 he has been performing consistently in NYC and Off-Broadway productions and became a Resident Acting Company member with the independent Shakespeare troupe Hamlet Isn’t Dead.
Greg currently works as an actor for both stage and screen, director, fight director, teaching artist, narrator, voice-over artist, and anything else that keeps him driven and inspires the people around him.
After a decade in NYC and due to the pandemic, he relocated to Green Bay, Wisconsin with the love of his life, (the equally talented and delightful UWSP musical theatre alumna Elizabeth McMonagle) and is grateful for every opportunity that comes his way.
