Emily Johnson

Emily Johnson is very excited to be rejoining the UWSP community to serve the Pointers’ students in their college success. Central Wisconsin is home for her, as she was born and raised in Wausau, Wisconsin just north of Stevens Point. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin – Superior, and Master of Arts from the University of St. Thomas in Leadership in Student Affairs. She is the first in her family to earn a bachelor’s or a master’s degree. Both these degrees and her experiences gave her the passion to want to help others find their sense of belonging at college to achieve success. She is eager and excited to support student success and work with DCA to achieve great things for our students!

She has served as a Hall Director/Complex Director for five years at UWSP and is now serving as the inaugural Non-Traditional Student Services Coordinator with the Diversity College Access department to work to support student success! She values the ability to connect with students and hear their stories, while providing guidance and support towards success and self-advocacy within each person. In her free time, she likes to go on walks with her two pups, Cleo and Willow, go on adventures with her partner, put puzzles together, watch the Green Bay Packers, spend time with family, and enjoy a good concert (typically country music) every now and then!
