HOUSING APPLICATION
Students are REQUIRED to live in the residence halls for the first two (2) years after they graduate from high school (to see the full UW System Board of Regents’ policy, please click here). You are encouraged to apply for housing as early as possible.

Application Instructions
- Review Housing Options on our website.
- Activate your UWSP Account.
- Log in to the UWSP Housing Portal.
- Choose the correct application (e.g., “Academic Year Traditional Hall”) and complete the answers as prompted.
HOUSING ASSIGNMENTS
October 14, 2024
- Since Housing uses your application date and time to assign the self-selection appointments, students should submit the housing application as soon as they can.
- You do not need to have a roommate figured out to submit your housing application.
- Updates/corrections can be made to the Meal Plan selection, roommate request, lifestyle questions, and other sections.
- Students should complete each section as completely and and honestly as possible.
- An email will be sent to the student confirming that the application was completed.
June 1, 2025
- To qualify for the New Student Room Selection, incoming fall semester students must complete a housing application, including signing their contract, by the June 1 priority date.
- An email will be sent to the student informing the student of the start of the selection appointment and when the processes closes.
Mid June
HOUSING SELF-SELECTION
- New Student Self-Selection Appointments will occur in mid June. The earlier the student signed their housing contract, the earlier they will get to select their room.
- Housing Self-Selection is completed in the housing portal.
- Students who do not participate in the self-selection process will be paired up with another student based on roommate match percentage and placed into an available space.
Note: Most new students will be housed in a double-occupancy traditional residence hall. Exceptions may be made for students who are 21+ or have an approved medical accommodation, see below.

March 9, 2025
- To qualify for the Returning Student Room Selection, students must complete a housing application, including signing their contract, by the March 9 priority date.
- Housing will assign the self-selection appointment times based the total credits earned and then by the contract completion date.
- An email will be sent to the student informing the student of the start of the selection appointment and when the processes closes.
Late March
HOUSING SELF-SELECTION
- Returning Student Self-Selection Appointments will occur in Late March.
Information about housing accommodations is available in the housing application. Accommodations are not guaranteed. Until approved, students should participate in the housing selection process. If approved, Housing will update the student’s assignment for said accommodation.

HOUSING CONTRACTS
Completing the housing application includes signing the Housing Contract which is completed through the housing portal. You may also review the contracts here.
Traditional Hall Contract
With the exception of Hyer Hall (21+), a meal plan is required with the housing contract.
Suites@201 Contract
Suites@201 have full-academic-year contracts for individuals who are at least two years out of high school. Please note, these contracts are in effect for the entire academic year and cannot be terminated unless you are no longer a student at UW-Stevens Point.
2025 Contract opens in April
Summer Housing
The Summer 2025 Housing Application will be available in April. Students are charged weekly, Sunday through Saturday, for a set price per week. This amount is not prorated for students who move in later or out earlier during that week.
