As a 100% online program, the UW Cybersecurity master’s degree is able to combine the talent and resources of eight University of Wisconsin campuses. WHAT TO EXPECT? 

It doesn’t matter if you’re a software developer, a systems administrator, or even a manager: Cybersecurity affects everyone. Professionals like you are the forefront, ready to grow your skills to meet the challenges of the future through security planning, risk assessment and communication. Our curriculum lines up with demands of today’s employers. The program was developed with input from industry leaders! Match your interests and tailor your degree path in one of the program’s unique tracks of study:

Students will take core classes in the fundamental areas of cybersecurity and then pursue a track of study with three required courses. You will also complete a one-credit capstone preparation course and a final project-based capstone course.

Applying to the M.S. Cybersecurity online degree program at UW-Stevens Point

Program Admission Requirements*:

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with, at minimum, a 3.0 undergraduate GPA. Prerequisite coursework in Introduction to Computer Science, which must include programming content, and prerequisite coursework in Calculus or Statistics.

Candidates will submit a resume and two letters of recommendation (professional or academic), along with a 1,000-word statement of personal intent describing your decision to pursue the degree. Application materials must be completed two weeks prior to the semester start to be considered for admission. No GRE or GMAT required.
*Campuses may waive some of these requirements as part of the comprehensive application process.

International Guidelines
This program welcomes online students from around the world. Online students do not qualify for an F-1 Student Visa to travel to the U.S. but instead can participate in our online courses remotely. If your native language is not English and/or you attended school outside of the U.S., you will likely need to provide proof of English language proficiency and an official translation or evaluation of academic transcripts.
