UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield presents Disney’s ‘Frozen Jr.’

Local youth will perform in Disney’s “Frozen Jr.” August 15-17 as part of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Marshfield Theatre Camp. 

Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, August 15-16, and at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 17, at the Helen Connor Laird Theater at UWSP at Marshfield. Purchase tickets at tickets.uwsp.edu or at the box office one hour prior to the show pending availability.  

Under the direction of Donna Thompson, this is UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield 18th annual youth summer theatre production. The cast consists of more than 50 talented central Wisconsin youth, ages 11-18, who have rehearsed since early July to bring this production to life.  

Based on the 2018 Broadway musical, “Frozen Jr.” brings Elsa, Anna and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. The show features all the memorable songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez plus five new songs written for the Broadway production.  

 A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, “Frozen Jr.” expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure and plenty of humor, “Frozen Jr.” is sure to thaw even the coldest heart!
