The Department of English at UW-Stevens Point serves to educate students in the liberal studies of language and literature, which foster communication, critical reading, and critical thinking skills. We believe that studying and responding to literature play a crucial role in a liberal arts education that will help students become active and aware participants in our complex culture.
Our English Department faculty pride themselves on the attention they give individual students to help them further and widen their interests and develop their strengths. Our majors are connected with enriching career development opportunities, including work in our student-staffed independent university press.
