Jeana Council

BIO

Jeana Council is a licensed clinical psychologist. She earned her Ph.D. at the University of Kansas and joined UW-Stevens Point in the Department of Psychology in 2003. Council specialized in positive psychology, sports psychology, multicultural counseling, and social justice.

She is collecting data on intellectual safety in the college classroom, counseling psychologist’s use of positive psychology in their teaching, research, and clinical work, and the effects of workplace gratitude journaling. Professor Council invites student research ideas related to her areas of interest. The undergraduate human services internships and student research assistantships typically result in student co-authorship of professional publications and presentations.
