What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A teacher and a lawyer.

Favorite Quote?

My eldest son once called me, “Highly, intelligently, strange.” He was referring to how “geeky” I am and I love it.

One thing about your school that you are most proud of?

This may sound cliche, but I’m proud to be a part of the CLS department. I’ve waited a long time to transition to academia and I couldn’t feel prouder to work in this department with my amazing colleagues.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?

I really enjoy making connections with my students and sharing my passion for medical laboratory science.

A piece of advice for students in your school?

Study, review or rewrite your lecture notes every day. I received this advice from my high school chemistry teacher. It took me until my second semester sophomore year in college to see the wisdom in this advice.
