UWSP works alongside a number of professional organizations for the common goal of promoting sustainability in society, especially in higher education.

*AASHE – The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). As a member, our mission is to promote sustainability in all sectors of higher education - from governance and operations to curriculum and outreach - through education, communication, research and professional development.

*MREA - The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) promotes renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable living through education and demonstration. Each June the MREA hosts the Energy Fair. This event is the world's largest and longest running energy education event.

*WPS – Wisconsin Public Service (WPS), UWSP’s energy provider, currently supplies the campus with energy from renewable sources such as wind and biomass through its NatureWise program. UWSP currently purchases 23% of its campus-wide energy through NatureWise and 40% in the residence halls.

*Focus on Energy and WECC – Focus on Energy is a current partner in the funding of the UWSP KEEP program. Focus on Energy funds for the KEEP program are administered through the Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation (WECC).

*Energy Star is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. UWSP uses ENERGY STAR appliances throughout campus, including the Dreyfus University Center Food Court and the Debot Dining Center.
