On July 21, 1893, "The world is ours!" were the first words on the telegram announcing that Stevens Point, Wisconsin won the bid for the state's sixth normal school. We commemorate Founders Day by acknowledging the remarkable individuals who have played an invaluable role in making the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point what it is today.
This year, following a gala sponsored by the UWSP Foundation to benefit our Freshman Scholarship Fund, Chancellor Bernie Patterson lit the recently restored cupola atop Old Main for the first time. While this was a momentous occasion, the chancellor decided to have just a bit of fun!
