What Can I Expect at STEM Career Day

UWSP STEM Career Day is a program to introduce area 10th and 11th graders to careers in science and available paths of study at UWSP.  This program is meant to serve as a precollege program and enrichment program.  It will also be used as a recruitment tool by giving UWSP the opportunity to showcase departments, faculty, and students.

• Learn about careers in science & technology
• Choose from many different "hands-on" workshops
• Get a peek at university life by attending workshops and eating lunch on campus

Substitutions and Cancellations

Substitutions may be made at any time upon notification to UWSP Continuing Education. No refunds will be given after November 3, 2009 except in the case of inclement weather or unsafe travel conditions. UWSP Continuing Education reserves the right to substitute workshop presenters.

Adult Chaperones

Students should be accompanied by an adult representative from their school.  If an adult chaperone is not available, the student can still attend ONLY if a Liability and Photo Release Form is signed.  See below for link.  Adult chaperones will not be assigned to specific workshops but can attend any workshop they choose. Adults are assessed the $30 registration fee.

Student Scholarships

A limited number of scholarships are available for students upon written recommendation by a teacher or school administrator.  You may fax recommendations to Julie Hellweg at 715-346-3504.  Scholarship deadline:  October 23, 2009. 

If a student has special needs that require assistance, please notify us at least one week prior to the program.

Liability and Photo Release Forms

Students must bring a signed Liability and Photo Release Form with them in order to attend the conference.
