The Grant Support Services Office mission is to provide
faculty, staff, and students with the resources necessary to
apply to local, UW-System, state, and federal sources of grant
funding. The Office helps to administer local grant
support funding through the University Personnel Development
Committee (UPDC), and assists with the processing of grant
applications to UW-System and other outside agencies. The
Grant Support Services Office is the “principal agent” in
negotiations between the University and all governmental and
some private and foundation funding agencies for University
projects. The office informs faculty, students, and staff
regarding potential funding opportunities for research, teaching
improvement, and other developmental activities. The
office assists with and coordinates proposal preparation,
review, and submission; provides contact for governmental rules
and regulations requirements concerning grants, contracts, and
cooperative agreements; and, provides liaison with all potential
funding or regulatory governmental agencies. The office
also provides administrative support to the Institutional Review
Board (IRB) for the Protection of
Human
Subjects, Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee (IACUC), and
WiSys. In its liaison activities, Grant Support Services
staff monitors and contact governmental agencies regarding
current programs and solicit information concerning future needs
and directions in funded programs. The purpose is to
solicit information regarding support opportunities and
communicate them to faculty and staff and to stimulate interest
in the University on the part of the agencies themselves.
