We strive to keep you connected to your alma mater and hope you will take advantage of some of the volunteer opportunities we have available for you to help current and future Pointers while helping increase the value of your own UWSP degree.

Student Organization Presenter Volunteer

Throughout the year, student groups often approach the alumni office and the student involvement and employment office (SIEO) to find alumni volunteers to speak to their student organizations. Please answer the following questions and check the appropriate blanks to help us determine when to contact you to serve on a panel or as a speaker. In addition, if you have certain topics that you would like to speak about please list those as well. Please note that the alumni office cannot determine when a student group will request a speaker if your area of expertise. If there is a specific student organization that you would like to present to, the alumni or SIEO office may contact that group on your behalf to inquire about openings in their meeting schedule.

What the Alumni and SIEO Office can do:

• Enter your information and interest into our list of alumni speaker volunteers.
• Recommend you to student groups as they are planning events and panels.

What YOU can do:

• Keep us current in terms of what topics you would be interested in speaking about.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the time commitment?
A: The time commitment is as little or as much as your schedule allows. The Alumni Office estimates that you will spend about 5 to 10 hours per year as a student involvement volunteer, depending on the popularity of your topics.

Q: When will I be called on to speak?
A: The Alumni Office has no control over when a student group will request an alumni speaker in your area. If you would like to speak to a certain group, please let the alumni office know and we may contact the student organization on your behalf.

Q: What if I have other questions?
A: We’re here to help! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 1-877-POINT01 or by e-mailing us at alumni@uwsp.edu. Someone from the alumni office will contact you 1 week after receiving a signed copy of this form. We will also check in with you periodically to see how you are doing.
