UW-Stevens Point Alumni Association Awards and Recognitions

UWSP is home to thousands of amazing students each year that graduate to become leaders of tomorrow. Our alumni change the world, raise the next generation of leaders, and instill in those around them what it means to be a Pointer. Our goal is to recognize these truly outstanding alumni. We are honored to be able to recognize graduates as they work to create a better life for everyone through their actions. It is humbling to see what our alumni do each day, how they contribute to society and how they succeed for themselves so that others may go further.

Special thanks to all alumni awards committee members. Without these dedicated volunteers, we would not be able to provide these award opportunities. Thank you for all of your hard work and understanding of the true importance of the alumni awards process.

Distinguished Alumnus

The Distinguished Alumnus Award was created in 1969 as part of UWSP’s 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Celebration, when awards for distinguished achievement and university service were presented to seven outstanding Pointer alumni, including former university president William C. Hansen and renowned faculty members Elizabeth Pfiffner Debot, Norman Knutzen and May Roach.

Only 91 of more than 70,000 alumni have been granted the "distinguished" designation. Their names, award years, and graduation dates are listed here.

New in 2010!
The UWSP Alumni Association is proud to announce the expansion of our Alumni Awards program! With the help and support of the Alumni Board, College Deans, and dedicated committee members, we are excited to offer the opportunity to recognize more of our outstanding alumni!
